deCompagnie is a music ensemble with a heart for music and theatre. Seven young professional musicians form the core of the music ensemble, including Michiel Delanghe and Mathias Coppens, the founders of deCompagnie. They came up with this idea in 2014 and founded an ensemble with a new generation of musicians. deCompagnie has its origins in the conservatory of their home port of Antwerp and was born out of an artistic need for symbiosis. This is what Michiel Delanghe and Mathias Coppens bring together today. They lead the new generation of musicians to defend the music of the 21st century with their typically warm and generous play. deCompagnie wants to create and remake opera and musical theatre that can touch today's audience.
deCompagnie starts from timeless themes, large lyrics and scores which they transform into contemporary opera and musical theatre. In doing so, deCompagnie makes a continuous connection between the past and the present. deCompagnie wants to create opera and music theatre without bombastic sets, rather from the material itself.
With their recording 'Preludes', deCompagnie released its debut CD in the series 'In Flanders fields'.
Great friendship is one of the strongest bonds between people. The aspects and the feelings of playing music and friendship are very alike.
These two milestones are what combine the Duo Silence Speaks. Two musicians who happened to meet at the Conservatory in Antwerp, who gradually grew towards a real friendship with good conversations, with or without words, which led them to play music greatly together, by knowing the power of a silence, that speaks.
Innovative, versatile, surprising. I SOLISTI gives classical music a creative twist.
What started more than 30 years ago as a traditional wind octet under the direction of artistic director and founding father Francis Pollet grew into an international production house with an eye for dramaturgy and experience. Giving opportunities to talented young artists, adventurous and challenging projects, as well as creations and music theater performed by excellent musicians, are a constant feature of the ensemble's operations.
I SOLISTI brings together top musicians who have individually built up a solid reputation as a soloist, orchestra or chamber musician. A permanent core of 25 musicians is expanded or limited depending on the project. Reflecting on 250 years of wind [r] evolution, we create a varied and colorful spectrum of original projects, ranging from intimate chamber music, impressive masterpieces, creations and surprising opera and music theater for young and old to supporting young music-making and composing talent with the I SOLISTI ACADEMY and publishing exciting recordings. The ensemble, in residence at the Antwerp Conservatory and campus resident of deSingel International Art Campus, fulfills a unique place within the Belgian music landscape and is structurally subsidized by the Flemish Government.
The Bone Project was founded by three eminent Belgian Trombonists Jan Smets, Geert De Vos and Benjamin Haemhouts in 2001 and was expanded to a quartet with the inclusion of Bram Fournier in 2009. The first part of its name ‘bone’ refers to the trombone, on the other hand, 'Project' stands for a multi-sided concept which leaves just about all possibilities open.
The artistic mission of 'The Bone Project' consists mainly of banishing all prejudices about the so-called one-sidedness of trombone ensembles, the claim that classical musicians do not feel at home in jazz and the claim that humor and serious music do not go together.
The Bone Project has already played many concerts at home and abroad and is a welcome guest because of the variety in repertoire. The ensemble has various programs including original Belgian work, a trip around the world, well-known arrangements and so much more.
